Provo Lunch

Today I coerced my good friend Chelle into eating here...

If you haven't eaten at J-Dawgs, you are missing a treat. Seriously, you must have one. They are so good, and I don't even like hotdogs.

For desert we ate here.

because, really, if you are going to eat well, why not go all out? I gobbled down my JDawg w/banana peppers, special sauce (a MUST) and pickles. (Actually I get the pickle because I can eat that separately. I eat the banana peppers separately too...hmmm weird). Then I licked off the delicious icing on my Va'nie'la cupcake. Every fat laden, sugary, animal by-products bite was SO GOOD.

There are some things in life that you just have to eat.

8 things I've learned this week

one. Don't leave your phone out when you are sleeping.

two. I was able to work with seven wonderful women this past year. I miss them.

three. A Saturday's farmer's market is a fun place. share the mini doughnuts with your daughter... or son, or friend, or sweetheart and visit all the booths--oh, and buy something, even if it is little. support local families rather than your local Walmart.

four. any birthday is fun if it's spent with hilarious children.

five. even your strongest, most capable friends need your prayers.

six. I wish everyone could meet the amazing friends I have. And they even know me well, and like me anyway, which just makes them that much better.

seven. gratefulness and entitlement cannot co-exist. Is someone really grateful if, in the same breath, they are complaining for things they did not get but feel they deserved? what makes us think we are entitled to anything? I asked my friend Jolene, who emulates the truest form of gratefulness, what makes a woman think this way? Then I remembered that I see it sometimes in my own life. The Lord gives and gives and while with my mouth I express gratitude, I wonder if my heart is saying I deserve this and this and I'm entitled to that. I've seen women demonstrate both this past week -- true gratefulness and true feelings of entitlement. The first is so much more becoming of a Christ-like woman.

eight. Women's Conference was an incredible event this year, but I'm glad it is over for now. it was hard.
