Fall Break Blessings

Tonight I have four Spanish Fork 16 year old teenage boys in my basement, chowing down on $50 worth of pizza, soda and junk food, making a mess and a lot of noise,

and I'm so glad they are here.

Explosion

Chelle and I drove through the alpine loop on Saturday. Jenn (Landy's daughter) came with us. We almost made it up to Cascade Springs until Chelle's car overheated.  The cap blew off and we had a huge explosion of steam and Chelle took an anti-freeze shower. No major burns (thankfully). I thought about taking a photo, but she would not have appreciated it.

The colors were beautiful.

Grocery Store Scene

"Mom, what are we giving away as treats for Halloween?"

I'm not sure, why?

"Please don't give away oranges and apples or some kind of weird vegetable.  I don't want to be THAT house. meh."

The Ultimate Treat

The dishes were in the sink, the laundry was waiting to be put away, and the rooms needed to be picked up.

We played go FISH instead.

a sign of the times

Late last night Brax was at his cousin's and I was cleaning up the kitchen when I heard Emma laughing upstairs. She was supposed to be in bed.

She came down the stairs with my cell phone. "Mom, I think I'm in trouble." She handed me the phone and tore upstairs and hid in the bathroom.

The texts went something like this...

Brax: "mom, can I stay and watch the last episode??"

me (actually Emma): "tell them you cant"

Brax: "K, on my way"

When he rolled up on his bike a few minutes later, I told him about his sister's antics and said, "you may want to call next time." 

all he said was, "EMMA!!!"
